Clever Home Garage Storage Hacks

Smith · November 26, 2018 · Leave a Comment

Your garage may be the one of the biggest parts of your house. From providing you with somewhere to store your cars and tools, to giving you a place to work on your home projects, your garage is likely filled to the brim with all sorts of handy things that you need throughout the year. So how do you go about creating a storage system for your garage that really works? Here, we show you some clever garage storage hacks.

1. Use the walls

One of the biggest storage spaces that is often underutilized is right under your nose. Your garage walls are a great place to store many of your things, regardless of their size or shape. By installing brackets, such as those you can find in Gladiator Garage Works, you can mount just about anything on your walls, from brooms and cleaning supplies, to bikes and surfboards. There’s no need to store this stuff in the way of everything else. Get it on your walls so you can start to use your space properly.

2. Don’t overlook your buckets

Your buckets might be useful for filling with water, but when they’re not in use you can double them up as storage units of their own. Why have a bucket sitting empty on a shelf or the floor when you can tidy up by storing things in it? Not only does that keep stuff out of your way, but it allows you to put your bucket to use in those times when you don’t need it to catch a leak.

3. Neaten up your twine

You’ve probably got rolls and rolls of twine and rope lying about the place, but keeping these balls nice and neat can be tough. One way you can get around this problem and keep everything in line is to use your old coffee tins. Coffee tins usually have plastic caps, and if you make a hole in the cap with a sharp knife, you can feed one end of the twine through the hole while the spool sits inside of the tin. That way you’ll keep your twine all in one place and you’ll never be searching for the end!

4. Golf tool bag holder

If you’ve got an old golf bag lying around, it’s time to put it to good use. This bag isn’t only good for carting your clubs around. It can actually help you keep your long garden tools out of the way. Stand your shovel and rake in the bag, and you’ll be able to keep these tools stored neatly in a corner or behind a door. No longer will they trouble you by falling over when you knock them. The best thing is, you can store your hand tools and gloves in the smaller pockets on the side.

Just because your garage is full of your handy tools, it doesn’t mean that it has to be a mess. There are many clever ways you can go about neatening up your garage without having to throw anything away. Use this guide to help you get the most out of your garage space.
