4 Reasons You May Be Experiencing Back Pain

Smith · April 10, 2020 · Leave a Comment

If you’re experiencing sharp and sudden pains in your back, it can bring your entire life to a halt. It can affect your productivity, mood, and overall well-being. If left untreated, back pain can get worse over time. It’s important that you identify what’s causing it so that you can remedy it as soon as possible.

In some cases, it may be difficult to pinpoint what’s causing the pain. In some cases, it may have been caused by an injury, while in other cases, it may be a result of your lifestyle. Here are some of the most common reasons that you may want to consider that may be causing your back pain.

Poor Posture

If you have a job that requires you to sit for long periods of time, it can start to take its toll on your back. A Townsville Physio explains if you don’t practice proper posture, it puts pressure on the spine in places that can cause damage and backpain. If you work a desk job, try to stay in tune with the way that you are sitting every few moments.

Try to correct yourself if you notice that you’re slouching. Correct your posture by rolling your shoulders back and bringing your navel forward. The result will be less pressure on your back and a healthier spine.

A Pinched Nerve

If one of the discs in your back has been pushed out of place, it can result in a compressed nerve. The result is extreme shooting pain anywhere from your lower back all the way down to your legs. This is referred to as sciatica. The pain can be so intense that most people require prescription medication as a relief.

In many cases, they may end up developing a dependence on these strong drugs, which is why it’s not a long term solution for back pain.

Fibromyalgia

While Fibromyalgia most commonly affects women, it’s not impossible for men to experience it too. Medically, it is recognized as a condition that is a disruption in the way that the body deals with the way it reacts to pain. The brain is overly sensitive to any sensory, and patients may experience extreme pain for no apparent reason.

Poor Sleeping Position

The way you sleep at night plays a large role in how well you feel during the day. If you sleep in an awkward position, it can leave you feeling extreme pain in the morning.

Make sure that you’re sleeping on a mattress that doesn’t have any springs popping out or large cracks underneath the mattress, which could lead to your body staying in an unhealthy position.

Spine experts also recommend sleeping on no more than one pillow to avoid neck pain.
